Doris Beeson

Recollections of the Battle of Britain.

Doris Beeson (nee Green), was a young girl at the outbreak of war and living with her family in Mottingham. During the summer of 1940, Doris was nine years old and can clearly remember the Battle of Britain. She recalls standing in the garden looking at the planes in the sky:

‘I...will always remember the Battle of air Britain. I and other members of family stood in the garden at Mottingham SE9 and was cheering our planes in the air fighting the German planes. We could actually see the pilots in the planes and it is something I will never forget.’
